Half-ton models now feature standard Hydroboost brakes, a tire-pressure monitoring system and newly styled optional 17-inch aluminum wheels. The trailering package now includes a 7-to-4-pin brake wiring adapter. For added safety, there is now a front passenger seatbelt reminder. Also, a sunroof and rear-seat entertainment system can be ordered together for the first time. Lastly, GMC has lowered the output figures for the Vortec 8100 -- the engine is now rated at 320 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.

Too many broblems and no support ! - 2004 GMC Yukon XL
By fred E. - May 9 - 2:00 amHave A 2001 yukon xl, the suv broke down on the road,got it tow dealership,they said fuel pump problem and I had to pay for it,because warrenty ran out at 36000 miles ,after week of rental it was ready and then few days later same problem happen, got tow to difrent dealership, fuel pump related again and 3 days later and since the second time this happen,my wife did not want to go any where far with it,and finally she calls me again today that the truck leaking some in the rear and was not stoping as she was backing out the drivway, tow again this time brake line came outloose,and in pass I had called customer service and were no help

This is a great truck - 2004 GMC Yukon XL
By bmcnj - January 6 - 2:00 amI have owned this car for just over 6 months now. I use it for my daily commute and to get around on weekends. It is a pleasure to drive and is surprisingly quick and response for something of this size. It has tons of space for all those things you never knew youd need to carry until you have kids. The sound from the DVD player is great. My only regret is that I got the 2003 rather than waiting for 2004. This meant deciding between a sunroof and the DVD player.

Best Vehicle I have ever owned - 2004 GMC Yukon XL
By Looram - November 18 - 9:43 amMy 2004 Yukon XL is just about perfect. The only trouble was with the exhaust popping noise (which is a common problem with the 2004 models). The dealer fixed it by replacing the entire exhuast system. I am getting 13.5 mpg city and 19 highway which isnt too bad for its size and hauling capacity. Although it recently is costing me over $60.00 to fill up this bad boy, the ride is great and will plow through even the toughest of snow drifts up here in the midwest. The only regret is not getting the autoride suspension.

My 3rd Suburban - 2004 GMC Yukon XL
By StuMan - November 3 - 10:00 amThis is my third suburban - #1 94 Chev Sub, #2 99 GMC Sub, #3 04 Yukon XL. Very reliable - better than Excursions and much quieter. XM is awesome - so is OnStar (we like the unlock card by calling a 1-800 number feature). GMCs are just a little nicer than Chevys in my opinion. The Denali is very nice, but not for 7K more than the Yukon. I was able to resale my GMC much higher than the trade-in value they wanted to give me. These SUVs keep their value.

Room for the family - 2004 GMC Yukon XL

Love my Denali but its not perfect - 2004 GMC Yukon XL
By Muro214 - June 24 - 7:00 pmIve had my Denali for a couple of months and have upgraded it with 22" rims. It looks great, but its not perfect for a $53,000 vehicle. It needs heated mirrors, better second row seats (it would be nice if you can move them back and forth), and the third seat needs to hide in the floor.

Denali XL - Awesome - 2004 GMC Yukon XL
By johnnybrem - June 1 - 2:00 amIm on my 5th GM Tahoe/Yukon/YukonXL/Denali/DenaliXL and this one is the best yet. Everything has been improved. They must be tweaking all the time. I feel like Im driving my living room around. But unlike the Navigators Ive driven, the Denali handles superbly. I love, love, love this baby.

Great Ride - 2004 GMC Yukon XL
By Dan - May 23 - 8:06 pmGreat vehicle for golf trips. I load up 5 guys with golf clubs and luggage for a 4 day trip to Myrtle Beach. The ride is great and I use the GPS system all the time. Its great to find golf courses. Its my 5th Suburban, but, my 1st Denali and I love it. There was not enough difference between the Denali and the Escalade to justify the price difference.

Didnt meet expectations - 2004 GMC Yukon XL
By DenaliOwner - March 1 - 2:00 amWe had problems right after we drove the car off the lot. The windshield was leaking, causing a loud noise while on the freeway, which the dealer fixed. We also have the clanging noise in the exhaust that can be heard a block away. GM is aware of the problem but not willing to fix it. After much wrestling and complaining and almost going to a lawyer, the dealership agreed to replace the muffler system at a local repair shop in order to fix the problem. We bought the extended warranty, which originally they said would NOT cover fixing the loud clanging in the exhaust.
